After returning from co-ordinating the Ottawa Construction Specifications Canada chapter‘s Connections Cafe at 10 p.m. last night, I needed to awaken at 5:00 a.m. to catch a flight to Toronto for another presentation to different group, the Ontario Construction Users Council (OCUC). So, not much time for the daily blog routine — the plane leaves in a few minutes.
This time compression, travel and effort makes sense business-wise, of course, because (as readers here know) I know of few better sustainable marketing concepts then engaged and active client-focused participation and, ultimately, leadership. Associations provide an ideal environment to build and maintain relationships. Yes, “relationships” can be over-rated and you are in grave danger if you rely exclusively on “great relationships” for your business development and marketing, but (equally), your ability to communicate, share and connect in a non-competitive environment can truly enhance your brand, knowledge and marketing effectiveness.
Gotta go now. The plane is boarding . . .
