Today is the final day of voting for the 2017 Best Construction Blog competition. As I write this blog (at 6:00 a.m.) there have been 1,063 votes cast, and 43 per cent of them have gone to Oldcastle Building Solutions, which — unless another competitor pulls off a truly astounding last-minute push — will lead the total at the day’s end.
This is one race, however, where it doesn’t necessarily hurt your case to reach the finish line in second, third or even fourth place. The reason: Popular vote is only one component in the finalist decision. Independent judges will review the top seven entries in popular vote on other criteria, including content quality and design. I expect we’ll have the judges’ reviews by late April and announce the results then or in early May.
