A brief posting today . . . We returned from the Holcim Awards North America ceremony in at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. at 11 pm last night and I now must head down for a media conference/breakfast, so I?ll provide more details about the awards, the concept behind the competition, and the marketing potential of this sort of event in future blog entries.
The top prize, a $100,000 award plus the opportunity to compete in the program?s worldwide competition, went to architect Mason White at Lateral Office/Infranet Lab in Toronto, with support from Lola E. Sheppard, Nicole Bouchard and Fionn Byrne for an innovative food gathering and logistics network in Iqaluit, Nunavut, in the Canada?s far north.
I will learn more in the upcoming media briefing and share some observations about large and small business, innovation, regional success and multinational marketing, and more in upcoming postings.
