Simple advice: Focus on your own site, ignore the review services


Darren Slaughter makes a simple point in this video clip: Focus on your own website (and driving traffic there) rather than concerning yourself with how third-party review sites such as Houzz and Yelp “review” your business. Simply put, you lack control of the story — and even if you have a good reputation on these sites, unless you feed them with plenty of advertising cash — they’ll sell their soul (and your place) to your competition. (And if you are foolish enough to pay for leads/advertising through these operations, you’ll enter a one-way-trap-door — just try to get out!)
