Burgin Construction Inc. of Orange County, CA, has entered its blog in the Best Construction Blog competition for the third time. Last year, the residential contractor tied for third in the overall competition but I sense that Burgin is close to first-place in understanding the effectiveness of social media in consumer-based marketing.
For example, Rhoda Burgin is one of the most frequent posters I?ve observed on Google Plus, including the ?hangout? function which allows for immediate video conferencing.
This recent (December 2011 blog posting puts the Burgin Construction social media presence into perspective:
Waaaaaaaaaay back in 2009 we wrote a blog about Social Media and how we use it in our company. Not much has really changed, we still use it mostly to to improve our communication with clients, trade partners and colleagues and, of course, for the occassional marketing push.
What has changed however is that I have really taken over all of the Social Media interaction. Instead Shannon being the Facebookaholic, I AM! Don?t worry ? if you?re addicted to Social Media, you?re not alone! I love everything Social Media and have even hosted chats and done interviews about our use of the different platforms out there. I?m sure that you?ve seen me posting and tweeting and networking and blogging and chatting?you get the picture.
So, I want to know where you spend your online time. Are you a Facebook fanatic Do you spend your time networking on Linked In?
