The Construction Marketing Ideas Google Plus Hangout — 2 pm. EST Friday (today)

CMI Google plus page

Weekly video Google+ Construction Marketing Hangout Friday 2 pm.

The Google Plus Hangout process today reminds me of my first encounter with email in the mid 1990s.  We were certainly hearing about the “new” Internet then, and I grappled with the concept, signing up for one of the earliest ISPs and publicizing in my newspaper my new email address, waiting (it seemed vainly) for my first email “ping”.

Of course things have changed.  We now expect websites as a norm, receive so much email that even legitimate non-spam messages are lost in the clutter, and many of us have “social networks” which have far more names than we can truly know as individuals.

I sense the Google Hangout is the precursor of a truly different and vital change in the way we communicate.  We’ll use the Hangout (or whatever the name evolves to in the future)  for a combination of one-on-one and group video conferencing or calls, with elements of broadcasting (or narrow-casting) and saving the videos for future use and transmission.

I think you should know about this technology and be able to understand and use it.

The early Hangouts will be simple things, experimental and without any guaranteed quality or results.  That is why, in part, I have scheduled my Hangouts for mid-afternoon on Friday (eastern time zone), when I’ll be working but not likely doing extremely challenging stuff or participating in vital staff or client meetings.

You are welcome to join me. You’ll need a free Google Plus account, of course.

Here are the Construction Marketing Ideas Google Plus parameters.
