Today, I travel to Toronto for the annual Construct Canada show, which begins tomorrow. We’ll have our booth (3027) and on Wednesday afternoon I’ll present the findings from my SMPS Foundation white paper about strategic alliance best practices for the architectural, engineering and construction industry. The show combines relationship-building, learning, connecting and marketing in an intensive three-day package.
Does it work? We’ll pull out our results from last year and assess the direct return on investment. Certainly, I know my less-than-perfect presentation during the conference portion produced some rather rewarding results.
Shows and conferences can be challenging and often expensive events. We reduce our costs somewhat with reasonably careful planning and service trade-outs, but in the end, the value is measured in brief conversations and reconnects, adding to trust, community and future business.
If you are at the show, I certainly welcome you to attend my presentation. You can register here. The show organizers have set a $35 fee but I’m confident you’ll find enough value in that investment. If you wish, email me at buckshon@cnrgp.com or visit our booth for a chance to meet face-to-face.
