How much would you pay for a lead?

How much is a lead worth to you? I know the easy answer is “it depends” — clearly a high quality lead on a high value project is worth more than a low-quality lead for marginal work. This question is intended to see if you have an idea of your cost per lead as a benchmark for your marketing success and initiatives.

How valuable is this kind of knowledge to you? Well, if you know what your average lead costs, then you can determine where you achieve the greatest value/results. If you use salespeople, of course, you can use this metric to assess performance.
